Conditions for obtaining service

  • The manager of the center must be a holder of a professional license as a nutritionist, and have a practical experience in nutrition in a hospital or a licensed center or an approved organization or an institution as per the followings:
    • At least five years after obtaining the (BA) bachelor degree.
    • At least three years after obtaining the (MA) master degree.
    • At least one year after obtaining the (PhD) doctorate degree.
    • The manager of the center must be fully free to manage the center and have no full-time job with any other employer.

Procedures

  1. The applicant visits Health Institutions Licensing Department, fills out the form of licensing a nutrition-counselling center, and submits the letter of intent from the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
  2. The applicant documents the letter in the register of Health Professions and Institutions Licensing Directorate. The letter will then be forwarded to the Director of Health Professions and Institutions Licensing Directorate for review and then to Health Institutions Licensing Department.
  3. The letter and the required documents will be forwarded to Health Institutions Licensing Department.
  4. The applicant will be provided with a letter of approval to register the intent.
  5. The applicant visits Health Institutions Licensing Department and submits the commercial register and trade mark certificates.
  6. The Nutrition Consulting Centers Licensing Committee studies the application, schedules a date of inspection and prepares a report to state so.
  7. If the fittings of nutrition counselling center comply with the requirements of Law no. (96) for the year 1999, the applicant pays the due fees in the Finance Department.
  8. A letter, signed by the Minister of Health, is prepared to approve the licensing and allow direct action.

Required Documents

  • The letter of intent from the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
  • An ownership deed or a lease contract under the name of the nutritionist.
  • A survey plan of the center.
  • A copy of the Professional License.
  • A resignation letter from his/her recent work.
  • A copy of the commercial register and the trade name registration certificate.
